Kitesurf & Windsurf Sardinia South

The predominant winds of Southern Sardinia are the Mistral (northwest wind), the Scirocco (southeast wind), and, in some areas, thermal winds (which, in most cases, blow from the southeast). Here in the south, the winds are less gusty, and the temperatures of both the water and, especially, the air are higher compared to Northern Sardinia.

Southern Sardinia, once less frequented and considered by sailing enthusiasts, has experienced a boom in recent years: stunning locations, almost constant wind, and excellent connections from Italy and most European capitals, thanks mainly to the Cagliari airport and port. The kitesurfing beaches in southern Sardinia are more varied and less crowded compared to those in the north of the island, and by moving between the southeast coast, the south coast, and the southwest coast, the chances of finding suitable wind for kitesurfing every day are extremely high.

Below is the map showing the beaches equipped for Kitesurfing & Windsurfing, as well as others where you’ll need to bring your own equipment or possibly rent it. Regarding equipment rental, prices vary and depend mainly on the provider and whether you use it locally or at other beaches. We recommend checking the rates through the links in the description or contacting the various partners along the coast.

If you have any doubts about the locations, you can follow the links in the description to view each beach in detail. Please note that during the summer months of June, July, August, and September, non-equipped locations do not always allow Kite & Wind-Surfing due to crowding, unless weather conditions are unfavorable for swimmers. On the other hand, some beaches do permit Kite & Wind-Surfing even during the summer months, thanks to dedicated lanes for their use, provided the surfers are experienced and maintain a safe distance from the shore.
